Yahoo! UK News Message Boards – Art – ~ Peculiar ~ Art ~ of ~ Dreaming ~

I love flying dreams Lilly, they're so exhilirating. I don't drive so sometimes I have driving dreams and they are similar. I seem to be always stealing my father's car though…..

The most powerful dream of my entire life featured my father. It was turning point for me. Scared me $%^&less but was worth it.

I was in a nightclub run by a human generator. It was an old old man who was totally exhausted so they were replacing him – with me!!

The bouncers were reptiles and the club had 3 floors all made of glass with a firemans pole instead of a stairs. I won't tell the whole dream as it's quite long but when I realised what was happening, I ran and a huge group of friends sheltered me until they took the old man (screaming and crying -very distressing) back to his cell.

I was running and runnuing through parks and fields and was exhausted when suddenly I saw my father's car. Relieved, I jumped in, only to find it was full of reptile bouncers and not my father at all.

I escaped at traffic lights and started running again. Through a black door and was back in the nightclub and the reptile bouncers were sliding down the pole to get me….aaaaaggghhhh!!

I woke up the way they do in movies when a nightmare has just been had. Bolt upright, sweating, terrified, barely able to breathe.

I realised from that day on that my father couldn't help me – and he didn't help me when I needed him most as a small child – but I had to deal with it and move on. It was the best bit of therapy I ever had…and it actually made a difference that still resonates today.

Our minds are amazing…so powerful and a little scary sometimes too.
